“Treasured Friend“
I lost a treasured friend today
The little dog who used to lay
His gentle head upon my knee
And shared his silent thoughts with me.
Although my eyes are filled with tears
I thank “PIP” for the happy years
that he shared side by side with me
And for his love and loyalty.
What we have once enjoyed we can never lose:
All that we love deeply becomes a part of us.
